Computers unavailable 3rd-4th July

2/7/2018

Unfortunately due to necessary software upgrades all branches of Eglwysbach will be without computers from approx lunchtime on Tuesday until a similar time on the Wednesday.
This will mean we cannot generate repeat prescriptions, cannot see full medical histories or deal with test results etc.  We apologise for this inconvenience and would ask that only genuine medical emergencies present in this period; we hope that we will be fully up and running as normal by Wednesday afternoon.
We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

New Taff Ely Cluster Website

1/7/2018

Picture
A new website has recently been launched offering up to date resources for patients living within our practice area.  Much of this was previously featured on our practice website, but we will now redirect to this website where relevant in order to keep you abreast of the latest info.
Topics covered include: local well-being activities, mental health support, help with smoking/drugs/alcohol, and information relating to the health professionals working in your area.  We would encourage you to add the site to your favourites for future use, as it continues to develop in the coming months.

Practice Update

1/7/2018

Many of you will be aware that over the past year we have been assisting with the running of a neighbouring practice, Ynysybwl Surgery, and as of July 1st 2018, the practices will formally merge.  This will offer both parties greater sustainability going forward in these difficult times for General Practice.  Both Ynysybwl surgery and Dr Bhat are very well thought of locally (see Google Reviews), and we feel will compliment our traditional family practice ethos.

It means that Dr Swarna Bhat who has been working as a single-handed GP in Ynysybwl will now be joining us as a Partner in Eglwysbach, and that Ynysybwl Surgery will become a branch surgery of Eglwysbach.  We feel this merge offers us many potential benefits into the future for developing the practice in terms of recruitment, services offered to patients as well as increased resilience to pressures beyond our control.

During this past year of collaborative working, we do not feel there has been any negative effects on the care we offer our Eglwysbach & Tonteg patients, and please be assured, we have had the full support and backing of both the local University Health Board, as well as the Community Health Council in implementing these changes.  We have also recruited a new GP, Dr Sarah Phillips, in anticipation of these changes.

If you have any queries regarding these developments, please get in touch with our Practice Manager, but rest assured we shall endeavour to continue offering the high quality service that you and your family expect.
