Recruitment: We are also pleased that we have successfully recruited a new GP who will be starting in November - Dr Anna Waterfield. We are also working hard to secure the longterm services of additional doctors in the coming months. Unfortunately, similar to all local practices, GP recruitment has become very difficult in recent times, but we hope that this positive news will help us to increase the number of routine appointments we can offer going forward as well as our capacity to see emergencies. We currently have one GP on maternity Leave and are succession planning for forthcoming retirements in the coming years, but we believe that we can continue to offer the high levels of service we should all expect in modern primary care.
Flu Vaccine: It's flu season again, so please contact the surgery to arrange your jab. We have multiple appointments and clinics available in the coming weeks, including Saturday mornings. You may be aware, there is a new, more advanced jab available to all over-65s this year, but unfortunately there have been some supply issues. The official advice is for these patients to receive this new 'adjuvant jab' (even if it involves a small wait) rather than just settle for the standard vaccine, but please contact us and we can keep you up-to-date on the situation. At time of writing, we have stocks of all vaccines. Please click here for more info on eligibilty for NHS flu-jabs, and the different types available.
Cluster updates: Finally, please visit our sister-site for Taff Ely Cluster, for more info on Local activities/ resources/ courses, news on a social prescribing pilot project and more.
