Following a recent increase in the number of text reminders we've successfully been sending about appointments, we will now be sending 'text prompts' when medication reviews are needed, which will reduce the number of letters we need to attach to patients' prescriptions. This will be more efficient for staff, more environmentally friendly, and hopefully be more convenient for patients.
We will be texting patients to ask them to contact the surgery to make the relevant appointment, be that with the GP or practice pharmacist; or with the nurse/phlebotomist if bloods, or blood pressure are needed.
Should a patient not have a mobile number meaning we are unable to send them a text, then we will be attaching the letters as normal. Please ensure therefore that you keep us up to date when changing your mobile numbers.
We will hopefully next start texting clinic reminders also in the coming months.
Drs Alice Gaudet and Rebecca Sherlock have also joined the practice this month and we welcome them to our GP team.
We are also pleased to inform you that our new practice Pharmacist Conor will be joining the team from February, and will be working directly with Dan, who many of you will now be familiar with, and he will be involved in reviewing your prescriptions and offering medications advice, complementing our growing practice team.
