The surgery will be closed on Friday, 29 March 2024 and Monday, 01 April 2024. Should you have a medical emergency when the surgery is closed please call 111 or visit 111.wales.nhs.uk/ for advice and to check your symptoms. Junior doctors will be striking in Wales on the 15th, 16th and 17th January. Our surgeries will remain open during this time. However, the strike may impact our service availability and you may find the service busier than normal during this time.
We recommend also trying the following services if you are having difficulty accessing our care:-
Please remember that the strikes will also affect our emergency services and A&E waiting times. However, if you feel your illness is life-threatening, please still present to the hospital or call 999. Thank you. The team at Eglwysbach Medical Practice wish you all a healthy, happy and peaceful Christmas.

Should you have a medical emergency when the surgery is closed please call 111 or visit 111.wales.nhs.uk After much deliberation we have taken the decision to ask a management company to control our car park at Berw Road. All too often GPs attempting to go/return from home visits or move between branches are blocked in or have no space to park. The limited patient spaces, ideally for those less mobile, are often blocked by people visiting the pharmacy or going to town, or by cars parked in non-spaces.
We sincerely hope no-one receives a fine for being inappropriately parked in our car park. Please take note of the signage around the car park and on EVERY PARKING SPACE to ensure that you are appropriately parked. To remind you:- Parking spaces on the left are for patients visiting the surgery Parking spaces on the right are for GPs / Council staff only Do not park or wait in the manoeuvring area in front of the car parking spaces – these are not spaces Do not park immediately on the right as you enter the car park. This yellow hatched box is not a space. If you are a patient visiting the surgery and there are no spaces available, please use the multi-storey car park directly opposite the surgery. Do not block access waiting for a space. We thank you for your understanding. The surgery will be closed on Monday, 29 May 2023 for the Spring Bank Holiday. Dear Patient
As of 31 March 2023 the Practice will no longer offer the eConsult online facility. It has become evident that the majority of contacts we receive via this method require follow-up with either a face-to-face appointment or telephone call, thus duplicating workload. Unfortunately, it is also a service that has been abused with some patients submitting either unnecessary or an unreasonable number of requests. It is therefore not feasible for us to continue to offer the facility. To continue to meet the requirements of the Welsh Government’s Access Standards we have improved the functionality available on our website to give patients a form of digital access which can be used for fit note requests, admin requests, appointment requests and prescription requests. Please note, it is not appropriate to use the website for requests for clinical advice or urgent matters. Thank you. Please see below some data you might find interesting, detailing some of the work we do in Practice. We will endeavour to share with you on a monthly basis.
